For years she has worked as a clinical neurophysiology technician in several hospitals.
In the nineties she studied at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam.
She has been passionate about nature since her childhood, but after her first trip to Africa she truly fell in love with its amazing wildlife.
After private field/bush lessons, she learned to focus very fast on animals and their behaviour.
The last years she has become an all round photographer, specialized in portraits of people from different cultures.
She likes pure photography without bells and whisles; she doesn't believe in manipulating images with photoshop.
Besides her photography, she is also a painting artist. In the eighties she had some solo exhibitions.
Carla rarely works on commissions; she prefers the freedom which enables her to photograph the subjects that catches her eyes.
She is very fortunate having visited many countries and places.
Currently she is working on a project in Rajasthan (India) and NYC.
She is married and has one son.
All the animals are photographed in their original habitat. There are no images of animals in captivity.
Her wildlife pictures are represented by a South African Agency.
